Hello, I'm Dani
I teach Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Meditation in the Southern Tablelands.
For years I studied in Thailand under a Zen master, training in traditional Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and breathwork — patiently, deeply, and with intention. That foundational discipline shapes every aspect of how I move and how I teach.
I work with students at every stage, from complete beginners discovering internal energy for the first time to advanced practitioners refining complex forms. Years of attentive one-on-one instruction have taught me to observe closely, guide gently, and build confidence from the ground up.
I specialise in Yang-style Tai Chi and restorative Qi Gong, taught slowly, with no rushing and no pressure to perform, just a steady focus on balance, calm, and ease.
What actually happens in an hour
You arrive, take your shoes off, and we begin gently. Nothing is fast, and nobody performs in front of anybody.
You don't need to be fit or flexible, and you don't need to sit on the floor if that's hard for you. Wear comfy clothes and bring water.
Steady body, steady mind
Calm
Time out from a busy week, and a way to settle yourself.
Focus
Slow, deliberate movement that asks for your attention.
Balance
Steadier on your feet, with better awareness of your body.
Grounded strength
Gentle strength in the legs and back, built slowly.
Start with an intro class
Rather than asking you to commit to a full term straight away, I'm running four introductory classes across two mornings — Sunday 23 August in Goulburn CBD and Saturday 29 August in Tallong, with a 9–10am and a 10–11am class each morning. Each class is one hour and $20, and by the end you'll know whether it feels right for you.
All introductory classes are held indoors. The Sunday classes are at the Goulburn Dojo, Mistful Park Commercial Centre, 7 Franklin Street, Goulburn — a central location — and the Saturday classes are at Tallong Memorial Hall in Tallong, a quieter rural setting surrounded by nature.
There are 15 places in each class, so everyone has room and gets proper attention. If it feels like a good fit, the next step is a six-week beginner term starting in early September — $20 a class, or $110 upfront for the full term (a $10 saving).
- Book a spot and you'll get a confirmation email straight away with everything you need.
- If all classes fill, join the waitlist and I'll offer you a place in the next round first.
Questions people ask
Where are classes held?
All introductory classes are held indoors. The Sunday classes are at the Goulburn Dojo, Mistful Park Commercial Centre, 7 Franklin Street, Goulburn 2580 — a central location. The Saturday classes are at Tallong Memorial Hall, Tallong 2579 — a quieter rural setting surrounded by nature.
When do classes run?
Weekend mornings, one hour. The introductory classes run on Sunday 23 August in Goulburn CBD and Saturday 29 August in Tallong, with a 9–10am and a 10–11am class each morning. Weekly terms follow — see the next questions.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. These classes are built for complete beginners and we start from the very first step.
What if I'm stiff, stressed, or not fit?
That's who this is for. Everything is slow and gentle, you go at your own pace, and you can sit on a chair for the meditation if the floor is uncomfortable.
When do the regular weekly terms start?
The full six-week term officially kicks off the first week of September, right at the start of spring. The introductory classes in August give you a taste of the practice, and once complete, you'll have priority access to lock in your spot for the weekly term to build a consistent habit.
What style of Tai Chi and Qi Gong do you teach?
I teach traditional Yang-style Tai Chi alongside restorative Qi Gong and meditation. Yang style is ideal for all levels because of its gentle, flowing pace, upright posture, and focus on internal balance and joint health — with no deep, awkward stances or harsh strain on the body.
What should I expect in my first class?
A welcoming, unhurried environment. We spend the first few minutes settling in with gentle breathing and Qi Gong warm-ups before moving into foundational Tai Chi movements. There is no complex choreography to memorise, no pressure to get things "perfect", and you go at whatever pace feels right for your body.
What if I miss a class during the six-week term?
Life happens! If you miss a session, just let me know. Depending on class sizes across Goulburn and Tallong, we can look at makeup options or simple home-practice tips so you don't miss a beat.
What does it cost?
$20 for a one hour intro class. If you'd like to continue after that, the six-week term is $20 a class, or $110 upfront for the full term — a $10 saving.
What should I bring?
Comfy clothes you can move in, and some water. That's all.
What if the intro classes fill?
Every class is capped at 15 people, and interest has been well beyond that, so they may fill quickly. Join the waitlist and I'll offer you a place in the next round first. I'll add more classes as soon as I can.
How do I pay?
Bookings are made securely online via credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay when reserving your spot. For any on-site purchases or term sign-ups at the hall, we also accept EFTPOS and tap-and-go card payments.
